Jesuit Middle School of Omaha (JMSO) student Eric Donald found that “there is no place like Nebraska” as he was honored at the ninth annual “Breakfast for Champions” at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln. The event was sponsored by the University of Nebraska Alumni Association and the Nelnet Foundation.
Approximately 300 eighth grade students from across the state were honored on Friday, May 11 for their accomplishments in scholarship, leadership and service. Past and present Olympians, as well as Husker legends and academic champions were also on hand to sign autographs and to encourage students to continue their commitment to school.
Eric is an active part of the JMSO community. Not only is he a member of the Jesuit Jaguar basketball team, but he also participates in the Kingswood Athletic Association Junior Mavs football team. He is currently the secretary of the JMSO Student Council and is on the Academic and Citizenship Honor Rolls.
Outside of academics and athletics, Eric stays active at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where he participates in the choir and youth group. He is the son of Laryssa and Willie Donald, Jr. and will attend Creighton Prep High School in the fall. After graduation, Eric aspires to attend Duke University and become an architect.
